Spark started with a simple idea: students want to help their communities, but it’s often harder than it should be to know where to start. We work locally and personally to make it easier for students to show up and make a difference where they live. Spark exists to bridge that gap in a way that feels personal, local, and respectful of everyone’s time.

Our goal is simple: help students show up prepared, and help organizations feel supported. Spark is a community engagement initiative that helps high school and college students connect with local volunteer opportunities. We are not a school program or a large nonprofit. We work directly with students and community organizations to make volunteering more accessible and meaningful.
